Metro: Last Light’s latest trailer is depressing, so cheer up with a free copy of 2033

Check out the new “Genesis” trailer for Metro: Last Light.

After seeing this trailer, the subtitle Last Light seems more appropriate than ever for the upcoming Metro game. THQ has done a fantastic job of creating an air of hopelessness and fear with their last few videos, and this latest one continues the trend.

This clip takes us on a tour through the ravaged hellscape of post-apocalyptic Russia — flashing images of weary survivors and abandoned cities as a Russian man gives his version of the Genesis creation story. It’s depressing stuff, but somehow Last Light still seems like it’s going to be a blast to play when it comes out in March.

Also, if you haven’t had a chance to play Last Light‘s predecessor, Metro: 2033, you can get your hands on a free copy right now. Up until December 16th, THQ is giving out free Steam keys to anyone who “likes” Metro’s Facebook page.
