For the past couple months, we’ve been getting a steady stream of trailers for BioShock Infinite, and while they may not be particularly revealing individually, they provide some interesting insights into the game’s plot when considered as a whole. This latest one opens up with the line, “The seed of the prophet shall sit at the throne, and drown in flame the mountains of man.”
Let’s dissect this for a minute. In a previous trailer that shed light on the origins of the floating city of Columbia, it was revealed that the ‘prophet’ of Columbia is Zachary Comstock – the man who founded the city. And his seed? Could that be Elizabeth, the dimension-bending damsel in distress that Booker has been commissioned to rescue?
This assumption is bolstered later on in the trailer when we hear the prophet claim that Booker has “come to lead my lamb astray” – another line that seems to suggest Elizabeth is Comstock’s daughter. How juicy.
BioShock Infinite comes out on March 26th, so stay tuned for more trailers in the weeks to come.
