Spider-Man games have been all over the place in quality. The current proprietor of gaming for the webslinger, Beenox Studios, has been up and down with its own releases. Shattered Dimensions was well-received and did a lot right for Spidey. Last year’s Edge of Time was mediocre at best.
Hopefully, this means that Beenox is ready for a hit with The Amazing Spider-Man, which will take place after the events of this summer’s movie from Sony.
In the latest trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, you’ll get a chance to see some of Spidey’s moves, specifically a feature that Beenox is calling “web rush.” This move allows players to slow down time, like bullet time in the Matrix, to make strategic decisions from combat to travel. Turning it on slows the world down and highlights places and people that Spider-Man can use to make his next move.
The Amazing Spider-Man will be released on the Nintendo Wii, 3DS, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
