The incredibly detailed world of ‘Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’

Launch day for AC4 is so close we can practically taste it, and if you’re still not convinced this one will be much of an improvement over AC3, then prepare to have your mind blown.

In this latest trailer from Ubisoft, associate producer Sylvain Trottier showcases just how ridiculously detailed and dynamic the AC4 environment is. For starters, the game has a powerful sea engine that can realistically simulate the ocean’s behavior, as well as a series of different light filters and shading effects that mimic the real world look of shallower water.

It’s also got an incredibly robust weather system. When it rains in AC4, there are actually thousands of individual particles falling from the sky – each of which has it’s own independent lighting, and will create puddles and reflections when it hits the ground. And that’s just he beginning; check out the video to see what other stunning effects Ubisoft added to make the game even more immersive.

AC4 hits stores October 29th, so be sure to check back for more sneak previews in the weeks to come
