Check out our full written Watch Dogs review.
If you watch game trailers at work, you might want to save this one for your lunch break. Clocking in at nearly 15 minutes, the latest Watch Dogs walkthrough follows protagonist Aiden Pierce through some of the wards in the fictional Chicago at the center of Ubisoft’s latest open world game.
Ubisoft animation director, Colin Graham, takes viewers through non-story specific activities that will be available to players throughout Watch Dogs. Fans of Assassin’s Creed will recognize the city-altering side missions that are similar to some of the side quests featured in that series. Specifically, unlocking the Central Operating System, or CTOS, that allows players to hack the environment and devices.
You might also notice a somewhat Sleeping Dogs/Grand Theft Auto IV vibe to the game with driving sections and different tricks to avoid the police. There is also the increasingly familiar reputation system that affects how the citizenry of Chicago reacts to Pierce.
Despite all of these similarities, Watch Dogs is it’s own beast via Pierce’s ability to hack literally everything from police scanners and cameras to laptops and traffic systems. Keep an eye out for the other player that hacks into Graham’s game towards the end of the video.
Watch Dogs will launch with the PlayStation 4 on November 15th. PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC users won’t see the game until the 19th, while the Xbox One will launch with Watch Dogs on November 22nd.
