Ghost Recon Alpha is finally here. Ubisoft’s 30 minute film introduces viewers to the four main characters of the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier game, and shows us what the fight would look like in live action. We’ve mentioned it before, but the plot of this short film takes place right before the beginning of Future Soldier.
Alpha was produced by Ubisoft and Little Minx, a company that is under Ridley Scott & Associates, and follows a team of “Ghosts” as they attempt to stop a Russian terrorist organization from getting their hands on a bomb. The ending of Alpha rolls right into the beginning of Future Soldier.
Ubisoft has made huge investments in adapting its own properties and even created a department to bring its IPs to the big screen. So far it’s only been via the Ghost Recon and Assassin Creeds series (plus a Raving Rabbids animated series that airs in 2013), but you can expect more if Ubisoft’s moves are successful.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier launches next Tuesday on May 22 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, but PC gamers will have to wait until June 12.
