Nintendo hangs out at the Kid’s Choice Awards

Last Saturday (March 31), Nickelodeon put on its 25th annual Kids Choice Awards. As kids, many of us actually voted a few times to see our favorite celebrities, actors, and musicians take home the famed orange blimp that doubled as a kaleidoscope and has been the logo for Nickelodeon since 1984. A quarter of century later, the show is still going strong.

The awards were most of us looked forward to each year. Part of that may have had something to do with the possibility that celebs who went to the show had the potential to have green slime dumped on them–a lost art that Nickelodeon was famed for in the late 80s and early 90s. It brought so much joy to so many kids.

For this year’s award show, Nintendo sent out a rep to the orange carpet and asked various celebrities what their favorite Nintendo gaming memories are. The answers will likely bring back a few memories, while simultaneously making you feel old at the median age of the stars.
