Activision Rolls Out New X-Men Game

X-Men Legends: Rise of Apocalypse, available for multiple platforms, offers new characters and an online multi-player mode.

Get ready for some superhero role playing action as Marvel and Activision today rolled out X-Men Legends: Rise of Apocalypse. This game is available now for the Playstation 2 ($49.99), GameCube ($49.99) and PC/CD-ROM for $39.99. A Playstation Portable version will appear later this fall for $49.99.   In this particular X-Men game, the companies said, players create, customize and control teams of four mutants from 16 favorite X-Men and classic Brotherhood villains from the Marvel Universe. Players can switch instantly between teammates wielding many more super powers and skills than X-Men Legends, as they overcome obstacles, solve puzzles and defeat more than 100 types of enemies.   Single player mode is available as well as online, multi-player action.   "X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is sure to please X-Men fans everywhere with an original and suspense-filled storyline that teams up the X- Men with the Brotherhood villains for the first time ever," said Will Kassoy, vice president of global brand management, Activision. "The diversity gives players an unprecedented arsenal of super powers to employ as they battle an amazing array of enemies in exotic locales in single- player mode or online multiplayer modes with gamers around the world."
