Activision Ships X-Men: The Official Game

Video game publisher delivers a new X-Men game which has an original storyline and voice talent from actors featured in the upcoming X-Men film.

Activision announced today that a video game based on the upcoming Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Studios’ feature film X-Men: The Last Stand is due to hit store shelves this week for a variety of gaming platforms. X-Men: The Official Game is the first super hero game for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and will be priced at $59.99. Other versions of this title are also available for the PlayStatio 2, Xbox and GameCube for $39.99 and the PC, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance for $29.99.

In X-Men: The Official Game, said Activision, players can take on the roles of Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Iceman in an original storyline which lets them upgrade powers and gain assists from other X-Men characters such as Storm and Colossus.

“In X-Men: The Official Game, players will experience the events leading up to the ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ feature film,” said Will Kassoy, vice president of global brand management, Activision, Inc, in a statement. “Co-written by Zak Penn, the screenwriter of the film, and legendary comic book writer Chris Claremont, and featuring the voice talent of Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Shawn Ashmore and Alan Cumming, the game truly enables players to become a part of the X-Men movie universe.”
