I have also been looking to replace the base of my chair and came across your link. Just curious if it worked and the wheels and base all fit together correctly.

I ,too, need a new base for my AK Octane…

Doing some research, I found that the wheels, or 'casters' are are a 'grip ring stem' which ARE standard at 7/16″ by 7/8″ and the center hole in the base is also standard at 2″.

mine too bobsaggit! Need one bad, love this chair. Anyone find out how to find a wheel base? I was so pissed off to find these base-tards used plastic instead of steel on the wheel base. Wonder if there is a generic base that these can be plugged into? Anyone? Anyone???
