Amped 3 Brings Snowboarding to Xbox 360

New title from Take-Two Interactive Software will offer snowboarders the ability to do tricks and the like across seven real-world resorts, each with huge, open levels.

Take-Two Interactive Software’s 2K Sports publishing label today announced that their new Amped 3 snowboarding game is a launch day candidate for the upcoming Xbox 360 release. It features an all new physics engine and enhanced controls.

Amped 3, 2K Sports said, is what the label feels is the most authentic trick based snowboarding game out there. Players will get the chance to show their stuff at seven new real-world resorts with levels three times larger than previous Amped games. Hundreds of challenges will be offered at the various resorts, including an option for players to test their skills snowmobiling and sledding and then have their top scored runs, hang-times and crashes automatically posted on Xbox Live online gaming service.

Players will also be free to explore the backcountry of each resort on snowmobile and use the game’s Park Builder feature to plant their own jumps and rails.

“With Amped 3, 2K Sports has tapped into the power of Xbox 360 to create the most authentic, customized, and unique snowboarding experience for gamers,” said Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts, a 2K Sports studio, in a statement. “Amped 3 captures the sport of snowboarding and reflects the style and attitude associated with the snowboarder culture.”
