We could easily spend all day chalking up what is arguably the most iconic video-gamer character ever created, or we can just mention he had a slew of fantastic appearances on the GBA. All three titles below, confusedly named after their original NES counterparts, feature the infamous plumber in one iteration or another, whether he be an adult or a mere adolescent. The GBA conversions introduced slightly-updated visual components and subtle gameplay twists, such as cartridge saves and multi-system linking, while delivering the same platforming mechanics that have been synonymous with series since the mid-’80s. Chances are, you’ve played the titles in one form or another — after all, Japenese developer Shigeru Miyamoto’s iconic creations are hard to avoid in any circle — but all three remain pure, classic and downright awesome on the GBA.
