Two companies announce a partnership which will provide certain Comcast High-Speed Internet subscribers access to premium IGN content for no additional fee.
Cable giant Comcast and video game portal IGN Entertainment earlier this week announced a premium gaming service offered free of charge to Comcast’s 8Mbps High-Speed Internet customers. Dubbed “Game Invasionâ€, this service is available now.
Game Invasion, said the two companies, provides Comcast High-Speed Internet customers access to IGN Entertainment’s normally subscription based “Founder’s Clubâ€. This $120 annual value provides exclusive gaming related content, first access to gaming downloads, GameSpy Arcade & Arena multiplayer gaming access and more.
“Our partnership with IGN, leaders in video game information on the Web, further demonstrates Comcast’s commitment to deliver an unsurpassed entertainment experience to our growing base of broadband customers,†,” said Charlie Herrin, Comcast’s senior vice president of Internet development, in a statement. “IGN owns the most compelling video game content and community resources available anywhere in the industry.â€
“We’re pleased to team with the nation’s number one broadband provider to offer gamers an ultimate gaming experience,” added Dale Strang, EVP and General Manager, IGN Entertainment. “The pairing of Comcast’s fast, reliable speeds with IGN’s game content and downloads provides gamers the competitive advantage they are chasing.”
