Dawn of War: Dark Crusade Due October 9

Game publisher THQ has announced that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade has been released to manufacturing and should hit retailers worldwide on October 9, 2006. Dark Crusade is the second hybrid expansion to the company’s Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War real-time strategy game which is playable as a standalone game.

In Dark Crusade, players can take on all seven races—including the new Necrons and Tau—and fans with the entire Dawn of War series can access new units across each of the game’s five original races, new bonus content, and the ability to utilize all seven races in multiplayer mode.

“We’re delivering the visceral, cutting-edge RTS experience gamers expect from Relic Entertainment, and they will enjoy Dark Crusade whether they’re fans of the series or are discovering it for the first time,” said Tarrnie Williams, Relic’s general manager. “By making a hybrid standalone expansion, we’ve given the first time player plenty of single and multiplayer game-play options while providing a great deal of new content to the experienced Dawn of War veteran.”

Expect an “M” rating from the ESRB on this one—the screenshots alone are probably enough to justify it—if you’re desperate, check out the 300 MB demo available on FilePlanet and other sites.

Disney confirms, then retracts Star Wars Outlaws release window
Kay Vass joined by her small alien companion called Nix in a futuristic city.

The first couple months of 2024 are jam-packed with games like Tekken 8, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Princess Peach Showtime, but the fall calendar is currently much more of a mystery. An article from Disney today claimed that Star Wars Outlaws would be one of the fall's most notable AAA releases, but Ubisoft has since corrected that error and is keeping the highly anticipated game's release window at a vague "2024" for now.

Developed by Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora studio Massive Entertainment, Star Wars Outlaws looks like it will be an ambitious open-world game that will follow young smuggler named Kay Vess and her struggles during the time period between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It looks like the closest thing we'll ever get to a Star Wars version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Star Wars Outlaws impressed with showings at June 2023's Xbox Games Showcase and Ubisoft Forward, and previously only had a vague 2024 release window."

Best Amulet Enchantments and Relics in God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla
Kratos looks at the Leviathan Axe.

No matter how hard he tries, sometimes Kratos just can't avoid a fight. With the God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla DLC, there's almost nothing but fighting in this new roguelike mode, which is great for us who want more ways to engage with the game's brutally satisfying combat.

This mode's main difference is how you construct your build as you go through each run rather than pick a favorite and master it like in the main game. Aside from your base stats, you will be picking up various Amulet Enhancements and Relics through Glyph chests that give you different buffs and abilities. Many will be familiar if you've played the story; however, the challenges you face in Valhalla require different builds than normal.
