Xbox One wins an Emmy

Microsoft’s Xbox One has been awarded an Emmy Award for Television Enhancement Devices by the National Academy of  Television Arts & Sciences. The award was announced as part of the 66th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas as part of the Consumer Electronics Show.

The award honors the console’s popularity for not just games, but for its “industry-leading television-on-demand and media center capabilities.” Its ever-growing library of entertainment apps includes the likes of HBO Go and Pandora. Previous companies to receive the same award have included Apple, Roku, Sony, and TiVo.
