The next entry into the Fallout franchise hits stores on October 19, so expect the media blitz to begin presently.

If you are a fan of the Fallout franchise, circle the date of October 19 on your calendar. Then go ahead and take the rest of the week off of work, turn off your phone, and kiss your loved one goodbye, because Fallout: New Vegas is looking to fill the gaming void left when Fallout 3 ended and returned players to their regularly scheduled lives.

If you have been living in an underground vault to avoid radiation and mutants and haven’t heard, Fallout: New Vegas returns players to the post-apocalyptic world that was born from a nuclear war between the U.S. and China in the year 2077. The events of New Vegas take place in 2280, three years after those of Fallout 3, and while this is a spiritual sequel to Fallout 3, it is not being considered Fallout 4.  Of course, that probably won’t make much of a difference as significant others wonder where their loved one has been for the 60+ hours that can easily be claimed by this game.

Developed by Obsidian Entertainment- a group founded by several members that worked on the original Fallout games- Fallout: New Vegas will be available for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 19.

Warning: This trailer may not be suitable for all ages.
