Supergiant Games, developer of the critically-acclaimed Bastion, has released a launch trailer for its follow-up effort, Transistor. The video shows off the sci-fi action-RPG’s hybrid of real-time and turn-based combat wherein protagonist Red fills up an action meter to pause the game so she can plan out a series of attacks to execute in super speed. If this unique gameplay mechanic isn’t enough to attract you, the video also features Supergiant’s beautiful art design.
Bastion, the studio’s debut effort, was a huge, multi-platform success. Transistor looks to be building on all of its predecessor’s strengths to make something even bigger. You can measure it against the hype for yourself when it launches on Steam and PlayStation 4 on May 20.
