In fairness, Trachtenberg does have something of a track record, it's just that nobody really knows about it since all his notable work outside of Portal: No Escape has been in commercials.

Not that this guarantees his adaptation of Y will be worthwhile, but he has done things other than throw together impressive fan films for games he digs.

I really liked the series (although I thought the ending was a bit weak), so I want this to succeed. Seems really, really odd to give the keys to a guy with no proven track record. Maybe the guy is just insanely talented and this is the best move ever, but it seems insanely risky.
