GameStop Halts DS Pre-orders
IGN is reporting that the Nintendo DS has completely sold out its initial supply of the new Nintendo DS handheld console.
“The retailer GameStop has apparently sold out of its initial supply for the forthcoming handheld, Nintendo DS. GameStop stores are no longer accepting pre-orders for the DS, according to several GameStop retail mangers contacted by IGN.
Nintendo’s DS handheld, which features a unique dual-screen setup, one of which is touch sensitive, is set to launch in the US on November 21. The system will retail for approximately $150 and will come packed with a demo of Metroid Prime: Hunters.”
This is a good sign for Nintendo who could use the boost in profit. Sony’s PSP handheld gaming system is expected to hit the U.S. a year after Nintendo’s DS system.
