Get a peek at Dishonored with these new screenshots from Bethesda

The last month has been hot and heavy with news regarding Bethesda’s upcoming open world RPG Dishonored. There was the teaser image–which many originally assumed was regarding Skyrim–that was quickly followed by an exciting four-and-a-half minute trailer

We also had a chance to sit down with an early version of Dishonored. There were quite a few surprises and a lot of moving parts, but with a fresh IP like Dishonored, it’s hard not to be impressed.

If you’ve missed all the news here’s how Bethesda Softworks describes the world of Dishonored:

Dishonored casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is being besieged by plague and ruled by an oppressive government armed with strange technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you abilities beyond those of any common man.

In Dishonored, creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine the numerous supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your enemies under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make.

The images above should give you a taste of that world as well as a look at a couple of the big bads that Corvo will face.  Unfortunately, we don’t have anything solid on a release date for Dishonored, but our guess is that it will be a Fall release, more than likely around the same time that Skyrim dropped last year. We can confirm that it will be available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.
