Get Festive with The Sims 2 Holiday Edition

Newest add-on for The Sims 2 from Electronic Arts allows players to deck out their virtual homes for the holiday season.

Here’s one game looking to leap into stockings this year: Electronic Arts’ new The Sims 2 Holiday Edition. A special edition of the game, it is available either as a standalone version for new players or as an add-on pack for existing Sims 2 owners.

The standalone Sims 2 Holiday Edition, Electronic Arts said, contains the original game, The Sims 2, as well as 40 new holiday-themed items such as stockings, snowmen, Christmas lights and reindeer lawn ornaments. Suggested actions with these items include decorating your Sims 2 house, having a festive holiday dinner, setting up a visit from Santa and throwing a happening New Year’s party.

“The appeal of playing The Sims 2 is that the game is what you make it,” explained Senior EA Producer Tim LeTourneau. “Players enjoy participating in all the ups and downs of their Sims’ lives, from the big things like falling in love or building and decorating their house to the memorable things like putting up their family’s first Christmas tree and hosting a holiday dinner — even mundane details like ordering a pizza or fixing the toilet are humorous and fun. The Sims 2 is designed to make even the ordinary extraordinarily entertaining!”
