If your idea of entertainment includes playing with your cell phone, upstart mobile service Helio just got a whole lot more appealing, announcing today that it will be carrying 25 mobile games from award-winning studio Digital Chocolate.
“We’re excited to bring Digital Chocolate’s entertaining games and inventive applications to Helio members from day one,” said Leo Jun, Helio’s senior manager of games. “Digital Chocolate’s commitment to quality and innovation is proven not only by their numerous awards and top-rated reviews, but also by the satisfaction of their customers. Helio’s game service is designed with the gamer in mind and we are happy to partner with a company that not only understands what true gamers want, but is dedicated to delivering.”
Digital Chocolate titles to be available via Helio include the award-winning puzzle game Tower Bloxx, underwater adventure game FotoQuest Fishing, and WordKing Poker which combined poker with, um, spelling.
Helio members will also be able to connect with other mobile users through Digital Chocolate’s Social Applications, the first of which is the sports prediction game MLSN Sports Picks.
“We applaud Helio’s focus on young, connected consumers, as they represent a critical market segment for mobile entertainment. Digital Chocolate is laser focused on building applications that take advantage of the handset and network environment to deliver the best possible experience for the mobile user,” said Trip Hawkins, Digital Chocolate’s CEO and founder.
