Logitech Showcases New Xbox 360 Remote

The Harmony Advanced Universal Remote Control for Xbox 360, due out later this month, allows one button control of specific Xbox 360 features and other home electronics.

Logitech today announced a remote control accessory for Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox 360 video gaming system. Part of the computer accessory company’s line of advanced Harmony remote controls, the new Harmony Advanced Universal Remote Control for Xbox 360 will be available later this month for $129.99.

The Harmony Advanced Universal Remote Control for Xbox 360, said Logitech, grants users complete remote control of their next generation gaming system as well as other components in their entertainment system. Special console-specific buttons on the Harmony remote are designed to help navigate the Xbox 360 interface. The remote´s white finish, chrome accents, green backlighting and slim design are designed to complement the Xbox 360’s curves.

Other features of the new Harmony Xbox 360 remote include online setup for matching the remote to various home electronics components, control of up to 12 individual devices, a LCD display to view what actions are being selected and connection to a computer via USB.

“Our newest Harmony remote simply controls everything — from the Xbox 360 to any other components in a home-entertainment system,” said Bryan McLeod, vice president of Logitech´s remote control products, in a statement. “The Harmony remote solves the living-room clutter problem of excessive remotes and makes it easy for any family member to set up the entertainment system for playing games, listening to music, or watching movies or television — all by pressing a single button.”
