‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ Games Ship

Just in time for Halloween, Buena Vista Games has shipped two games based on Tim Burton's much-loved film "The Nightmare Before Christmas."

It might have appeared in theaters nearly 12 years ago, but for some of us it still feels like yesterday. Tim Burton’s cult classic stop-motion film The Nightmare Before Christmas has now spawned two new video games: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie’s Revenge for Xbox and PlayStation2, and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Pumpkin King for Game Boy Advance.

The games, developed by Capcom, include characters, elements, music and voice actors from the film. Oogie’s Revenge, rated “E10+,” continues the story of the film, with players assuming the character of Jack Skellington to help reclaim Halloween Town from Oogie Boogie and his various henchmen. The Pumpkin King is a prequel to events in the original movie, and details how Jack Skellington first met Oogie Boogie and saved Halloween by locating the source of weird bugs that invaded Halloween Town.

“The Capcom team and I were focused on capturing the absolute essence of the feature film while creating Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie’s Revenge and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Pumpkin King
