Nintendo Co said Thursday its profits were halved in fiscal 2003 due primarily to a large foreign-exchange loss caused by the yen's sharp appreciation.
In its consolidated earnings report for the year ended March 31, the video game maker booked a net profit of 33.19 billion yen, down 50.7% from the previous year, and a pretax profit of 50.14 billion yen, a decrease of 47.2%. (Kyodo News)
