Nintendo Revolution to Launch Summer 2006?

Gamesindustry.biz is reporting that a supplier to Nintendo let leak that the launch of their Revolution console will happen sometime mid-2006.

“A solid indication of the timeline for the launch of Nintendo’s next home console has emerged from memory firm MoSys Inc, which has revealed that it will supply memory for the system, with “mid-2006″ touted as the launch date.

MoSys previously provided the 1T-SRAM memory technology used by NEC for the GameCube’s memory, and speaking in a live conference call following the announcement of the firm’s Q1 earnings, CEO and CFO Mark Voll said that it would again be fulfilling this role for Revolution.”

Ian Bell and Dan Gaul at 3:32pm 11th December 2005 Based on Nintendos past, they will probably launch in Japan first, and America/UK afterwards. I am guessing Fall 2006?

James at 5:44pm 11th May 2005 I can't tell what Nintendos strategy is with this, are they worried they will be overshadowed this year by the other consoles? Maybe they want to wait for their big hit games to come out so they can launch with them?
