StarCraft II Release Date Announced

Starcraft 2It has been more than 12 years since the release of the first SatrCraft game on PC, and finally, after years upon years of delays, the hotly anticipated sequel, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, will be released on July 27th for $59.99. A special edition will also be released that features artwork, a behind-the-scenes-DVD, and a flash drive that contains the original game and its expansion pack, Brood War. The special edition will cost $99.99.

Since its release in 1998, StarCraft has sold over 11 million copies. Developed by Blizzard, the game has been a success on every level, but nowhere more than South Korea where national tournaments are headline news, and a TV channel dedicated to the game broadcasts live matches. Recently, allegations of match fixing shook the Korean gaming community to the core after it was revealed that both players and officials may have been involved in the scandal.

Beyond just the standard bells and whistles you would expect from a sequel that was over a decade in the making (better graphics, bigger maps, etc, etc), developers are boosting of major improvements to the multiplayer game that has already captivated millions, and many of those improvements are based on the direct interactions with fans. Specifics have been kept under wraps, but hands on demos are expected at this year’s E3.

Warning:  The trailer may not be suitable for all ages.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor release date pops up on Steam ahead of Game Awards
Cal Kestis with BD-1 droid on his shoulder.

The release date of the highly anticipated Star Wars game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor leaked on the game's official Steam page.
A Steam Page for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor went live with this release date information on Monday morning, seemingly ahead of a heavily rumored appearance at The Game Awards. The store page description reveals more details about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as well as its Deluxe Edition, which contains cosmetics that make protagonist Cal Kestis look like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo and the pre-order bonus with a costume, Lightsaber, and Blaster based on Obi-Wan.

The "About This Game" section also provides more details on the game. Narratively, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's Steam page explains that "Cal is driven to make a stand during the galaxy’s darkest times -- but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?" On the gameplay side of things, new Force abilities, Lightsaber fighting styles, and enemies to take down are teased. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor looks like it will be a galaxy-trotting adventure like its predecessor the description hints that there will be lots of planets to explore and that they'll be bigger and have more secrets than the ones in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
EA and Respawn Entertainment have been relatively quiet regarding Star Wars Jedi: Survivor since announcing the game in May, so it's exciting to get a lot of new information about the game like its sooner-than-expected release date. If the rumors are true, this may have deflated the hype from one of The Game Awards 2022's big reveals.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 15, 2023.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force: release date speculation, trailers, gameplay, and more
Raymond leaning over a crew member.

Aside from old-school JRPG fans, the mention of Star Ocean might not mean much. The series has always been two or three steps down in popularity from the likes of Final Fantasy or even Dragon Quest, but those who have dug into this slightly more obscure series are quick to sing its praises. First established in 1996, the Star Ocean games have come at an irregular pace, with only five total games in the mainline series released so far, the latest being Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness in 2016. That game, and the previous entry, were not all that well-received, leaving fans unsure about this smaller franchise's future.

Sony's October 2021 State of Play event wasn't full of many big surprises, but the announcement of Star Ocean: The Divine Force was one that meant a lot to fans of the series and also has made fans of JRPGs in general curious about this strange game that mixes fantasy elements into a sci-fi-inspired universe. The trailer we got was only a brief two and a half minutes, but more information has been trickling out. If you were intrigued by this unique-looking JRPG from the masters of the genre, Square Enix, here's everything we know about Star Ocean: The Divine Force.
