Starhawk beta code giveaway (round 2)! UPDATED

For those of you that missed out on the early access to the beta and are not PlayStation Plus members, here is your chance to get the jump in everyone else before the Starhawk beta goes public on February 21!

Just to be clear, this is an offer for a beta code to the upcoming PS3 exclusive game Starhawk, not a code for the activist and author of The Spiral Dance. Because, ya know, that wouldn’t make any sense. And it would be kinda weird. Just wanted to be clear there.

On May 18, LightBox Interactive and SCE Santa Monica will release Starhawk for the PS3. For those that haven’t really been keeping up, Starhawk is a spiritual successor to 2007’s Warhawk. That alone probably isn’t enough street cred for you to be circling your calendars just yet, but there is a very good reason to keep an eye on this game: it’s kinda awesome. The closed beta began a while back, and the reactions have been strong. Enough so that it became one of our most anticipated games of 2012.

But don’t just take our word on it, give the beta a try for yourself! The beta is still technically closed, and only those with early access, a PlayStation Plus account, or a new copy of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception have been given access. It will be open to everyone on February 21. But why wait?

The first 25 people that post below and tell us the game they are most looking forward to playing in 2012 will receive a code. Simple as that. So what are you waiting for? Post!

Thank you all for your interest!  The codes have been sent out.

The Nintendo Switch just got 2 surprise games — and they’re both worth grabbing
A teddy beat sits on an embroidery hoop in Stitch.

If you were unable to catch this week's Nintendo IndieWorld showcase, then you missed a surprisingly loaded show. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes got a May release date, WayForward showed off its Yars' Revenge revival, and Steamworld Heist 2 got an exciting reveal. In the midst of all those headlines, two smaller games were surprise released on the platform: Stitch and Sticky Business. Don't sleep on either of them, as they're both worth a purchase.

Both games are ports of previously released games, but both went a bit under the radar upon their original launch. Sticky Business modestly launched last summer on PC, whereas Stitch has actually been around since 2022 as an Apple Arcade exclusive. The latter even has an Apple Vision Pro version now that can be played in mixed reality. I can't blame anyone for missing either, but their Switch releases offer a good opportunity to catch up with some quiet hidden gems.

Is this Razer’s Steam Deck killer?
The Razer Kishi Ultra sitting on a table.

Razer has been oddly quiet in the burgeoning world of handheld gaming PCs. When I met up with the company at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) to learn about its new products, I was happy to hear it had an answer to the success of the Steam Deck.

But it was not the type of answer I was expecting.
