Stronghold Franchise Goes Fantasy

Stronghold Legends, set to be released this fall, adds new features to the venerable franchise and allows players to game as King Arthur or Count Vlad Dracul, among others.

2K Games, a Take-Two Interactive Software label, and video game developer Firefly Studios today announced a new addition to the Stronghold computer game franchise. The new Stronghold Legends is set to debut this fall.

Stronghold Legends, 2K Games said, adds a number of new features to the Stronghold line of games. These features include a strategic conquest style of play and new multiplayer modes. Gamers will be able to play as King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, Count Vlad Dracul or Siegfried of Germany in twenty-four missions which span three campaigns.

“The Stronghold franchise has been very well received, with more than two million units sold worldwide,” said Christoph Hartmann, Managing Director, 2K Games, in a statement. “Stronghold Legends will build on the popular Stronghold franchise and offer an exciting new twist on the classic gameplay.”
