The Da Vinci Code – Video Game Style

Take-Two Interactive Software announces the release of a video game based on the new movie and best selling book of the same name.

Take-Two Interactive Software’s 2K video game publishing label today announced their latest title, The Da Vinci Code, is now available at retail. Timed to coincide with the release of the movie of the same name, this game can be played on the PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2 platforms.

The Da Vinci Code video game, said 2K, was developed by The Collective, a division of Foundation 9 Entertainment. Expanding beyond the movie and best-selling book, the game features mysteries and puzzles unique to it alone. A blend of stealth, adventure, combat and puzzle-solving, The Da Vinci Code video game has players guiding characters Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu through detailed environments searching for hidden clues in locations like The Louvre and Westminster Abbey.

Charles Cecil, designer of the well received title Broken Sword, aided in the game design.

“The Da Vinci Code video game expands upon the plot in the film and book, allowing gamers to experience new adventures and solve new puzzles,” said Christoph Hartmann, President, 2K, in a statement. “The game takes players beyond anything they have seen or read.”

  1. Matt at 4:52pm 23rd May 2006 Being one of the few that liked the movie becuase I'm not overthinking it, if the game has even 1/10th of the pull that the book did, it too could be a best seller. Remember we love to hate the movie, but the book remains on the bestsellers list ever since it came out, what's the last book you can think of that has lasted for that many years in the best sellers list...I can think of 1, the Bible. coincidence? People love the intrigue and the clue hunting, that's the rage, like reality TV, it's hot right now. If the game is developed in that same spirit, it may reach a new breed of gamers that can't get enough of Davinci.
