2011 not only Payton Hillis was curse, but it was so bad that Madden curse went after every one named Payton or Peyton in the NFL. Peyton Manning got a neck injury before the season started and missed the entire year and got release from the Colt. Saints coach Sean Payton got hit by an opposing player on the sideline and injured his knee cap. He got surgery and his team lost in a dramatic fashion to the 49ers in the playoffs via the Catch III. Plus the whole Saints team was under investigated by the NFL for bounty hunting. It didn’t stop there as the curse also hit NFL legend Walter Payton.

I was just thinking the same thing. I didn’t pick up Hillis last year because of the cover, and I’m soooooo glad I didn’t. Sucks too cuse I like Johnson!

Well… the Superbowl champion Saints just lost to the Browns; arguably one of footballs least sucessful franchises. Big upset there, helped by Drew Brees throwing multiple interceptions. Note that:
"Brees, who was intercepted 11 times last season, has thrown 10 already." (espn.go.com)

Excellent article, fun to read. I had heard about the curse, but didn’t know that it went to this extent. Brees is such a nice guy too. I hope that he makes it out ok.
