Players will be able to do everything from tending pigs to populating the town zoo in the latest MySims title.
EA has sent The Sims to college, on cruises, out on the town, and now, to a medieval fantasy world. The latest incarnation of the ever-flexible Sims franchise, MySims Kingdom, will dump players into a feudal-styled fantasy town where they must help improve a society. The company formally announced the title for Nintendo Wii and DS on Wednesday.
Like the original MySims title, Kingdom will sport an anime-inspired look, and offer characters and lands to be explored. The storyline follows the crumbling kingdom of King Roland, which the player moves into and must aid in reversing with the help of others, including companions Buddy and Lyndsay. Although EA has released few details, players will be able to do everything from tending pigs to finding treasure chests, offering more flexibility and exploration than the original Sims titles.
“MySims Kingdom has players helping King Roland and his subjects make the MySims world a better place by completing rewarding quests, building houses, bridges or even making contraptions powered by electricity or water,” said Rod Humble, studio head for The Sims Label, in a statement. “And MySimsKingdom on Nintendo DS, adds many new activities such as kayaking, ski jumping, populating the town zoo and many others!”
Both titles are slated for release in North America, Europe and Asia in fall 2008.
