THQ Wireless licenses X-Forge for N-Gage

Fathammer announced that the wireless division of THQ Inc. has licensed the X-Forge 3D Game Engine for development of two Nokia N-Gage launch titles.

Red Faction and MotoGP, two of THQ’s top properties, are currently under development through premier third party developers.

“THQ is extremely impressed with the quality, power and flexibility of X-Forge,” said Doug Dyer, general manager, THQ Wireless. “We’re confident that our games will be the premier launch titles for N-Gage, and X-Forge’s cross platform capabilities will also allow us to explore many other platforms.”

Fathammer’s X-Forge is the only middleware tool to be granted the Nokia OK certification. In addition to being optimized for N-Gage, X-Forge fully supports other mobile gaming platforms using Symbian Series 60 and UIQ, Microsoft Smartphone 2002, PocketPC and WinCE, PalmOS 5 and mobile Linux. The game engine is a complete SDK and suite of development tools, which allow for rapid development of high quality 3D games.

“Fathammer is excited to welcome THQ Wireless to our growing family of premier game publishers and developers using X-Forge. Red Faction and MotoGP are excellent games which will truly showcase the power of our mobile middleware and represent the type of quality mobile 3D content that consumers will demand,” said Brian Bruning, CEO of Fathammer.
