Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 from EA Ships

Newest incarnation of EA's golfing franchise includes a new single player mode as well as a dual analog swing for better ball control.

Computer game company Electronics Arts today announced they’d begun shipping Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 for the Playstation 2, Xbox, GameCube and PC. A Playstation Portable version is set to ship on September 26.   One new feature for the Tiger Woods game franchise this year is the dual analog swing, which uses the left analog stick to execute the swing, and the right analog stick to focus on the impact point for better spin and trajectory.   Another new feature is a single player mode in which players compete against Tiger Woods for the title of number one golfer of all time. Players create a character and try to best not only Woods’ past accomplishments and achievements, but also those from golfing legends such as Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.   The game features 12 licensed golf courses, three fantasy courses and 19 PGA Tour golfers.
