UK Falls For Wii Fit

As the Wii Fit add-on hits the UK, pre-orders outstrip supply.

This week the Wii Fit add-on goes on sale in the UK at around $140. Consisting of a game and balance board, it’s being sold as a good way to keep fit.   And apparently it’s working.Pre-orders on the main online sites have far outstripped demand, with retailers saying they’re already sold out. It’s reached the point where Nintendo, which had warned of shortages,  was forced to release a statement on the GameIndustry.biz site:  "All retailers in the UK and Ireland have been aware of their Wii Fit allocations for launch since early March and as such we would see any stopping of pre-orders a sensible precaution on theirpart to ensure all current orders are met. Many retailers are still accepting pre-orders and we would advise people to shop around to secure their copy."
