Publisher Ubisoft has pushed back the PC launch of its open-world action game Watch Dogs 2, noting that the game’s developers need extra time to optimize its controls and overall presentation.

Originally set for release alongside PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports on November 15, the PC version of Watch Dogs 2 is now slated to premiere at the end of November.

“Our team is committed to quality and delivering the best Watch Dogs experience possible,” Ubisoft explained in a recent community blog post. “Therefore, we have made the tough but necessary decision to move the launch date for the PC version of Watch Dogs 2 to November 29. With this extra time, we’ll be able to ensure that Watch Dogs 2 runs smoothly across a broad range of hardware, as well as add that extra polish to those features which matter the most to our community.”

After acknowledging the delay, Ubisoft outlined a number of new features, additions, and tweaks it has in store for the PC version of Watch Dogs 2. By the time it hits Steam and other digital distribution platforms next month, Watch Dogs 2 will boast 4K support courtesy of an optional Ultra Textures pack, which will be available as a free download at launch.

Ubisoft further targets PC performance with the addition of sliders that allow players to control sharpness, pixel density, and field of view. The retail edition of Watch Dogs 2 will have an unlocked frame rate, along with full SLI/Crossfire support.

Other planned additions for the PC version of Watch Dogs 2 include multi-monitor support, expanded windowed mode options, and the introduction of multiple save files, which will track player progress for up to three separate playthroughs.

Ubisoft will also address PC control issues with the addition of “advanced keyboard support” and a “mouse-centric UI,” allowing players to control all interface elements with mouse input. The PC version of Watch Dogs 2 includes a mouse-and-keyboard control setup in addition to support for gamepads, and Ubisoft notes that in-game driving controls have been specifically tuned to accommodate keyboard users.

Watch Dogs 2 hits PC platforms on November 29.

23% of PC gamers probably can’t play Alan Wake 2. Here’s why
Alan looks surprised in Alan Wake 2.

We've known for months that Alan Wake 2 will be one of the most demanding games on PC, but new details show just how taxing the upcoming title from developer Remedy will actually be. According to a now-deleted tweet from a Remedy employee, somewhere around 23% of PC players won't be able to play the game.

To be clear, the employee didn't say that number explicitly. In response to the outcry over the Alan Wake 2 system requirements, the employee shared that only cards with mesh shaders are officially supported, meaning any Nvidia 10-series or AMD RX 5000-series GPUs or older aren't officially supported.

Cities: Skylines 2 will be the best PC city-building simulator … eventually
Key art for Cities: Skylines 2.

Cities: Skylines was a triumphant revelation when it launched in 2015. At that point, the city-building simulation genre was reeling after a disastrous 2013 SimCity reboot, and the approachable yet comprehensive setup of Cities: Skylines made it a hit. It became more comprehensive over time with various mods and DLC that added tons of new features, like natural disasters. As such, there’s a lot of pressure on Cities: Skylines 2 to deliver, and that turns out to be a heavy task.

Cities: Skylines 2 is a comprehensive simulator, even if it feels much less revolutionary than its predecessor. If you never engaged much with the post-launch support for Cities: Skylines, you’ll get hooked by its new progression and gameplay systems that are still surprisingly approachable. More experienced players will appreciate how elements like natural disasters and other small simulations are baked into the experience from the start.

Remnant 2 PC: change these graphics settings immediately
A knight with a gun in a burning square.

Remnant 2 is officially out after a three-day early access period, and PC players are already forming strong opinions. The game is remarkably demanding, despite the fact that it doesn't include any ray tracing settings. On top of that, the developers insist that the game was designed with upscaling tools like Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) in mind, causing some backlash from PC players.

I've played just shy of 16 hours during the early access period, including a full campaign run. Although Remnant 2 is demanding even on flagship hardware, you can push down most of the graphics settings without impacting the look of the game. Here are the best settings to get Remnant 2 into a playable state on PC.
