If you’re tired of constantly having to plug in and recharge your Wii U GamePad – or if you simply never unplug it, due to its miniscule battery life – then you might want to think about investing $32 in Nintendo’s Wii U GamePad high-capacity battery. It first came out in Japan during summer 2013 and then made it way to Europe some months later.
The 2,550mAh battery boosts the GamePad’s battery life from 3-5 hours to approximately 8 hours. It’s not an external battery pack, to be clear. You’ll need some (minimal) technical skill in order to swap out the old battery for the new one. The kit comes with instructions, but suffice to say: if you can handle a screwdriver, you can swap in the new battery.
Customers in the U.S. can grab a high-capacity GamePad battery now from Nintendo’s online store.
