Win a copy of Skyrim signed by the developers! (Updated with Winners)

We have two copies of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to give away, one for the PS3 and one for Xbox 360, and both are signed by the developers from Bethesda Game Studios. Read on to learn how you can enter to win!

Over the last few weeks, no game has been getting as much international attention as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It went on to sell over $775 million in five days, shattering pretty much every entertainment launch record in history. But while MW3 may have the headlines, it isn’t the title that most gamers are talking about. That honor belongs to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Although it hasn’t come near the new high water mark set by MW3 in terms of sales, Skyrim is receiving both commercial and critical love (you can find our review here). It continually gets mentioned as a game of the year contender, and the sales have been more than respectable. It won’t be the best-selling game of the year, but a second place finish is a very real possibility. Regardless, the game is a hit, and the looming holiday season should boost the numbers even higher.

So if you haven’t yet picked up a copy, or if you have but like it so much that you want a one-of-a-kind version of it to lord over your friends and taunt them, here’s your chance.

We are giving away two copies of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, one for the PS3 and one for the Xbox 360, and both copies are signed by developers from Bethesda Game Studios!

So how do you get your hands on a copy? Simple: Just post a comment below telling us what your favorite game of the year is thus far, what system you want a copy of Skyrim for, and you will automatically be entered to win. If you have no system preference, that’s fine, just tell us that. This contest is open to U.S. residents only.

Then on Monday, November 28, we will pick two winners and contact them for their shipping info. Once we have that, the game will be sent to you via Blockbuster Video.

I haven't been playing very many new games this year because I am currently a freshman in college and I don't have much money or time. I love all the new features in Skyward Sword, especially the new combat system with the WiiMotion Plus. The Zelda series continues to impress me with difficult puzzles, beautiful landscapes, and the great storylines. My next game I plan to get is definitely Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, for the Playstation 3. If I don't get it through this contest then I'll just have to wait until Christmas!(:

I played the Beta for Star wars : The Old Republic, and that is awesome. So until I play Skyrim I am going to say SWTOR. Either System would be nice, as long as I could get a copy to finally play!!
  9. Branden Hebert at 1:31am 28th November 2011 I'm a bit late to the party... So far, my favorite game has to be Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I remember picking it up on launch day along with 2 other friends. We got into a xbox party and played the game at the same time, all taking different paths, choices, and abilities. We almost never talked to each other since we were so involved with the game. The only time there was any conversation was when someone would say something like "Ohhhh.... SICK!!!" which of course was followed by everyone else asking what AMAZING trick they pulled. Want a shooter? Want a stealth game? Want a game where you can punch through a wall, turn invisible, jump up into the rafters, wait for the guards to investigate the newly-created "door", then come crashing down explosively on them from above like a comet? Deus Ex has something for everybody!!If I get a shot at this, I'll need the 360 version. Thanks!
  10. Nick Garrett at 1:30am 28th November 2011 Im going to give not one but TWO best game of the year thus far so brace yourselves. First off we have a legit contender for best FPS out there in my new shooter favorite Battlefield 3, although it won't out sell the competition(honestly won't even come close) but I think it is leaps and bounds better than MW3 in every way except brand recognition. As for my second and real choice, that will go to Star Wars: The Old Republic (Beta). In my opinion the first 10 levels of SWTOR (Swoh-Tor) are easily better than the first 50 of World of Warcraft. When Bioware said they were going to add the story element to the MMO I thought I'll just have to hear some droid ramble on about protocol, but what they've done here is immerse you in the Star Wars galaxy and draw you into really feeling like a Sith Lord or Jedi Knight. Like Battlefield 3 it won't win in the sales department this year, but I think we have another contender for Game of the Year on the way December 20th. Xbox 360 if you would please :)

I also liked the newest Pokemon, but figured no one else cared. I have a 360, but access to a PS3 as well so enter me for both (is that cheating?)

All my friends have been talking about how good it is and I've been posting about Skyrim all over my Twitter account but I can't quite afford it at the moment. I love all of my Xbox games, especially my orginal Assassin's Creed, but honestly Minecraft set the bar really high because it gave me and my fiance something to do together while we were at home for Thanksgiving. We've been having a rough patch since my father passed away in September, but Minecraft really allowed us to be together and have fun and be creative, and in the end it brought us closer than we've been in months. When I heard about Skyrim coming out I immediately wanted to get a copy for him for Christmas, but as money is a little tight [as it is for alot of people this year :(] I knew I'd have to do alot of saving up. I don't want to bring everyone down so on a happier note, if I would be lucky enough to win; and if it wouldn't be too much of a hassle, I would really like Skyrim for the Xbox since we pitched in together and traded in alot of our old games to get the new Xbox 360 :)Thank you very much for this opportunity Bethesda and Digital Trends, it really does means alot to this college student :)

I only recently installed Windows 7 onto my rig but I really enjoyed the sandbox aspect of it. I would love Skyrim for the PC (autographs or no autographs) but I don't think that was an option :)

Minecraft still has people coming back and eager for more. The community is like no other. If I had the money, perhaps, I may have chosen one of this year's other phenomenal titles, but alas I do not. Never the less, Minecraft is a unique experience among a cloud of sequels in familiar worlds. Even with legal battles, I was not discouraged by Mojang or Bethesda. I am proud to be part of the World of Minecraft. For the PS3 please.

Valve took a fascinating world and explored it to the core. Plus, Portal 2 had an ENDING, which most developers decide against so they can have a cliffhanger to another sequel. Because the level of detail and effort Bethesda put into the world is unparalled in gaming, and so much content is available to the player that in my mind, it is truly money well spent. TES:V stands out not only to other RPG's but all genres of games in general.

  60. Nate Ohrt at 8:28pm 24th November 2011 Clearly Skyrim is the Game of the Year. Even with as well done as Battlefield 3 ended up being, it's a second place finish. Battlefield does one thing really well. Shoot things. Skyrim does everything well, it's gorgeous and inventive, and is a large step in the right direction. Deus Ex is still on my to-play list, as is Assassin's Creed. Despite wanting to know where the story goes, I don't think either can come close to Skyrim. Gears of War was fun, and deserves an honorable mention only since I'm a fan and liked how it ended. Modern Warfare goes at the bottom of the list as completely overrated, and was churned out without a single real thought to actually improving the game at all. Xbox 360 would be my system of choice!

Awesome atmosphere and so much like the peerless original Deus Ex, but with modern graphics and combat. That said, I would absolutely love to play Skyrim on the XBOX 360. I have friends who own it, but I've held off and kept my Skyrim virginity because it's simply the kind of game you really just need to own yourself! I've played every other game in the Elder Scrolls series and have loved them all! Even Battlespire. Please?

Even with the bugs this game is an experience that shouldn't be missed. I would love to have a signed copy for the ps3 since I had to missed out on the expensive special addition. I'm getting into game art and design and would love to have a one of a kind signed copy for inspiration!

I have never wanted to throw my controller at my TV more often than when playing Dark Souls. My PS3 is in a constant state of terror, awaiting the moment I finally pick it up and throw it out the window while playing Dark Souls. I have gouged out my own eyes (twice!) to stop myself from playing Dark Souls. I have cut out my intestines and used my own entrails to strangle myself to rid myself of the frustration and torment of playing Dark Souls. Dark Souls makes me want to kick puppies. I hate Dark Souls.Dark Souls is the best game I've played all year. I love Dark Souls.Please, PLEASE, help me stop this insanity. I need Skyrim. Do it for my PS3. Do it for the puppies!

My favorite game so far has been Portal 2, but looking at Skyrim, I think it may beat it for the Game of the Year. I liked the mechanics of Portal 2 and the humor was appealing, but it was stretched out quite a bit between solving puzzles. Also I love the music. Skyrim is just a different sort of game (that I cannot afford).

It has already raptured 30 hours of my life and that number would be higher if I were able to play more often that just the weekends. I love the gameplay, graphics, the flawless blend of a new musical score with the old Oblivion themes, and the story. If I were to win this contest, a copy for PS3 would be wonderful.I am also really excited to see a Zelda game finally make it into the running for Game of the Year. It's a first for the series I believe.

Battlefield 3 offers an unparalleled multiplayer experience in which you can enjoy almost limitless hours of entertainment. However, from what I've played, Skyrim has the best singleplayer experience out of any game I've played...ever. It is one of those rare games that makes you forget multiplayer even exists. I'm glad they didn't try to integrate it. Because of that, I will have to give it to Skyrim.I would like a copy for the Xbox 360.

The visuals are amazing, the game play is near flawless. This game is more than just a worthy sequel to Oblivion, it stands on its own as a game that gamers will be playing for years, regardless of when the next generation consoles comes out. If I were to win I'd want a copy on Xbox 360.

Noir, Dragon Age 2 (Why did they make us play the same dungeons repeatedly? ::sigh::), Dark Souls, Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3, DC Universe my favorite game was... Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and here is why. This is 3 games for $49.99. After playing Peace Walker on the PSP, seeing it in HD with better controls is stunning. But that isn't really why it's my favorite. It's because of the Metal Gear Solid 3:Snake Eater remake, yes the story is captivating, but I absolutely lost it when watching the James Bondish opening sequence. The whole time the intro song was playing I was saying, "Yes! This is so awesome!" and pumping my fist in the air. "Some day you'll feed on a tree frog!" In my opinion one of the best games ever made. I love it because I have spent so much time immersed in the dark city that I feel it is a second home. It has been a while since I have been able to get lost in a game and Batman for me ticks all the right boxes. The best part of gaming for me is the escapism. That few hours of gameplay where you goal is to play how you like and nothing else matters. The few hours seem to go like 20 minutes. A good game like this is like a good book. Once you leave the world you cannot help but be brought back by your mind planning new adventures for your character. I have yet to get Skyrim which hopefully I will get before Christmas holidays. It seems like I will be getting lost all over again :) XBOX 360 is my preference if I am so lucky.

Yes I know that it is not "new" in a sense, but this game as an original changed online gaming through systems and the complete gameplay of all games, and set high standards for other games to compete with. So as said Halo Anniversary because they did such a great job remaking this game. My Game of The Year is Shogun Total War 2. Like Skyrim, it is a game in a series with an impressive pedigree. Shogun 2 did a fantastic job of both adding and removing elements to make a richer, more satisfying experience than its predecessor. Its an absorbing, enchanting game that demands one more turn. The rts battles are a delight to watch and exciting to command. If I win this contest my preference would be for the PS3 version. BUT should my name enter consideration for the XBOX version I will gladly accept the substitute.

(I had a very religious grandmother taking care of me and to her, anything with magic was considered evIL. That's a story for another day.) Over the years, Elder Scrolls has become less of a game for me and more of an important tradition. I've spent hundreds of hours with my closest friends playing Elder Scrolls and it would be of great sentimental value to have a signed copy from my favorite game studio. I'm a 19 year old college student in Florida and I've just gotten out of commercial land real estate to work with a branding agency on my first business. It would be an extremely cool item to display in my office. Hands down- Skyrim for Game of the Year! Skyrim on PS3.

It was one of those titles that I hesitantly picked up knowing it was going to be as difficult (and frustrating) as it gets. I was not disappointed nor was I underchallenged. It is a direct opposite of what Skyrim represents, a dark fantasy with horror elements that set it apart from other games of ist genre, and at the heart of its challenges were its very bosses that literally haunted my waking thoughts with me playing the game away from the game. No game this year has had that effect on me.

I'm an avid (read as fanatical) RPG player, having first whetted my appetite with FF1 for 8-bit NES many moons ago. That being said, I have come to enjoy some other games along my realm of interests such as the God of War series and Dante's Inferno (veritable clones, I know). It's just that when it comes down to it, I would rather sit and play an RPG during my time off, and since I have precious little of that lately, Skyrim has been my game of choice and it has not disappointed! So, to whit, my choice for GoTY is definitely Skyrim, and my platform of choice is PS3!

It's just a cleverly written, simple yet complicated, and all around fun game that I was able to enjoy with my younger brothers. I love M games, but my 10 year old brother isn't playing that one, sorry. My PS3 is the one I share this love with. Thanks Bethesda. Portal 2 completely caught me off guard, but it was an amazing experience. Revelations improved on almost everything from Brotherhood, and it's just a great game. I would greatly appreciate a copy for the Xbox 360.

It has a great storyline and the characterization was fantastic, the music was great, the whole game was fun. Quick, yes, but the co-op is fun as well. It has a decent replayability aspect as well! I've got no system preference.

Sure, they tend to have tiny little glitches that get straightened out in the future (PC) or annoy the shit out of you (console) but with the advent of consoles capable of receiving those very same updates I've got to say The Elder Scrolls are becoming more and more amazing. Great stories, wonderful mechanics, a gripping world to explore and almost endless possibilities are just a few reasons Skyrim is my game of the year. I would be more than stoked to receive a signed copy of the PS3 version.

It is the only game i really needed to buy to get me past the next 6 months to a year. i love everything about the copy i have for ps3 they just need to release the patch to fix the lags. Other than that the games amazing and i feel like no other game of 2011 or 12 will have as much gameplay and content as this. but i would like to win a copy to give my brothers because they were stupid enough to buy MW3 over skyrim and don't get to play mine much because im in college. so i would really like to win this for them. they have a xbox 360.

I have four sons who are game players. three of them live near or with me and have spent much of the last week or so playing Skyrim and Call of Duty 3. However, the first of the sons lives in California. He can't afford to buy any of these games and I'd LOVE to send him a copy. He and his wife are expecting their first baby next week, so they can play in those few moments they have not feeding, changing or burping the baby. We even have an extra X-Box we can send along with it! :)
