Activision and Silicon Knights are teaming up to bring the Marvel mutants back into the video game world.

The X-Men are returning to video games courtesy of Silicon Knights and Activision. Details are still scarce, but the game is due out at the end of 2011. Judging by the teaser, the list of the characters includes: Wolverine, Quicksilver, Cyclops, Magneto, Pyro, Storm, Emma Frost, and Nightcrawler.

The game puts you in the role of an unnamed mutant, and there is a heavy emphasis on choice, both in the way the story plays out, and in how your character develops. X-Men Destiny promises several branching story lines all based around the idea of choice.

The trailer which debuted at the VGAs is light on details, but expect a whole lot more on this game in the next few months.

  2. gambit at 9:32am 2nd January 2011 The terrakinetic is probably Avalanche
  3. Boobs at 3:05am 14th December 2010 I think its surge......not Storm. But the green background suggests its quicksilver. Could the terrakinetic be rockslide?
    1. Zolong at 5:27pm 4th January 2011 Rockslide isn't terrakinetic, he's just made of rocks.
  4. Guest at 1:32am 14th December 2010 it's not Quicksilver it's the Black Panther
    1. Michael at 5:24pm 4th January 2011 It's definitely not the Black Panther, since he's not a mutant. It looks like Quicksilver's hair and the green background only reinforces that
