Xbox 360 to be Backwards Compatible

We aren't sure why Microsoft didn't just tell everyone sooner, but it looks like their Xbox 360 will be backwards compatible with older Xbox games after all.

“Microsoft Corp. said on Monday its new Xbox 360 will run video games developed for the earlier generation of its gaming machine, an enticement to get fans who have already spent hundreds of dollarson older Xbox games to purchase new hardware.

The world’s largest software maker also announced a deal to feature Japanese publisher Square Enix Co. Ltd.’s “Final Fantasy” games, which up to now have been a cornerstone of rival Sony Corp.’s PS2 franchise. “

  1. A M Nichols at 1:26pm 28th December 2005 We purchased games for xbox because we was told they would run on xbox 360. We do not have xbox, only xbox 360. Of course the games are open and most will not run on xbox 360. We paid a lot for these games and believe that someone should be responsible. We would not have bought these games if we had not been told they would work. Please let me know who you think should be responsible. We purchased the xbox 360 at Game Crazy and I do not blame them. I believe that Microsoft should be responsible. The least they could do would be to replace the xbox games with xbox 360 games.
    Thanks for you help
