Xbox Sales Leap in U.K.

After Microsoft cut prices for the console, sales have risen by 40% in the U.K.

It’s a little over a week since Microsoft announced that it was cutting prices for its Xbox 360 in Europe. That’s been enough to cause a 40% increase in sales in the UK last weekend, according to Chart-Track, which follows game and console sales, in aVnunet report.   The Xbox 360 Arcade model now retails for $320, the Premium model is $400 and the Elite model goes for about $510.   But, as new gameshad been released just a week before, it didn’t enjoy a similar surge in games sales.   Sony hasn’t announced any plans to lower the price on itsPS3. In fact, the PS2 continues to show some very long legs, with plenty of titles being sold.
