A lot of good advice here. I have to disagree about the use of text messages when running late though. Sometimes on my way to a friend I'm stuck in traffic or sit on a bus that doesn't move for some reason (In San Francisco there are lot's of reasons why a bus all of a sudden hast to stop for 10 minutes or more) A quick message to my friend will tell him/her that I run late - but I agree... running late is always a bad thing :-)

Regarding twitter: I think there are different rules depending on your social status. Also: Navigation systems! I think they should become passive when the car is moving. So you can hear and see directions but you can't fiddle around with it until you make a full stop. A friend of mine got into an accident recently because the other person was playing around with the nav-system... go figure.

I wish this article had touched on Bluetooth headsets. In my own opinion, hands free headsets have one use, talking on the phone in a car. If you are in a restaurant, or in line at the grocery store….. Take It Off!

It drives me nuts when I see people using their cell phones during a movie or at dinner. If they need to call someone, or talk to them, leave the room and do it somewhere else.
