Acer may be better known for computers than smartphones, but it showed up to MWC 2012 with some interesting hardware. Unlike many of the quad-core titans that have hogged the spotlight at this show, the LiquidGlow sports only a single-core 1GHz processor and otherwise modest specs: 5-megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM, and 3.7-inch display with 800 x 400 resolution. The emphasis here is really on comfort; the Liquid Glow feels no bigger than an iPhone 4S, but sports a bigger screen and contoured, soft-touch body that fits better in the hand. Rather than pouring resources into hardware, Acer ran focus groups to see what size and shape users preferred in a phone, and this design came out on top. In a growing field of phones over 4.3 inches, we can see the appeal. Check out the video above for a closer hands-on look at the Acer Liquid Glow.
