How ‘splash-proof’ phones get their mojo: P2i hands-on video demo

We’ve all seen waterproof gadgets with rubber gaskets and seals that keep water out, but how can you possibly make an ordinary electronic device with holes all over the place survive a dip in the sink without damage? P2i makes the nano coatings that come straight from the factory on many “splash-proof” devices like Motorola’s Droid Razr Maxx. While you wouldn’t want to take P2i-coated devices for a dive, the coating provides enough water resistance to make accidental damage from dropping a device into a puddle, sink or even the toilet a thing of the past. Founder and chief technology officer Steven Coulson demonstrates how the technology can protect anything — including a tissue — in this hands-on video from Mobile World Congress 2012.
