It can be fun to watch a new audio company grow as it figures out its brand and refines its wares. Such has been the case with JLab, a company based out of San Diego which we first became familiar with through via its Diego in-ear headphones. The Diego turned out to be more style than substance, but the Bombora TEKST, a full-size over-ear headphone, was a step in the right direction with a slightly more refined sound. Now, JLab is preparing to formally announce the Omni, another over-ear headphone with Bluetooth technology built in for wireless audio, and a style that’s more young adult than it is teenager.
JLab will announce the $100 Omni on August 19, but the company sent us a sample so we could give them a whirl ahead of time. We’re glad they did. The Omni are a huge step forward for JLab, with sleek styling, a comfortable fit and wireless range that outperforms most of the Bluetooth speakers we test. Check out our video for a close look and further details, then mark your calendar for the pre-order date. If you’re in the market for some affordable wireless headphones, the Omni are tough to beat.
