Toshiba unveiled its three fancy new tablets about 10 days ago, but at a New York trade show last night we finally got a chance to shoot some video with the largest of the three new Excite designs: The 13.3-inch Excite 13. This video runs through some of the basics and should give you a decent look at the device. Though it’s a lot heavier than other tablets at 2.2 lbs, it doesn’t feel as heavy as you’d think. Toshiba has done a good job balancing the weight. It also comes with a nice metal stand that will help you prop it up if you’d like to lounge around and use it.
You can get the full specs in our impressions piece, but this runs Android 4.0, has a speedy quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, and a 1600×900 pixel screen, which is much higher than almost anything outside of the third iPad. It’s not for everybody, but if you want something larger than the iPad, this is your go-to tablet.
The Excite 13 will hit store shelves on June 10 starting at $650.
(Jeff: I apologize for the roughness of this video. Our microphone cord was a bit short and it was very loud on the show floor.)
