Yesterday, Microsoft dropped its second preview for Windows 8. Dubbed a “Consumer Preview,” it is the first well-rounded and semi-complete look at Windows 8 we’ve gotten since Microsoft released its Developer Preview a few months ago. We’re still working our way through the ins and outs of the new OS, but we thought it might be good to give you a look at how Windows 8 is shaping up so far while we figure it all out. We have been testing the OS on an HP Folio 13 Ultrabook with a mouse and keyboard, but if you can somehow find a touch tablet running on an Intel processor, the preview should work on it as well. We’ve posted instructions on how to download the free preview in another post.
Windows 8 will hit shelves sometime later this year. We’ll post our full thoughts on the beta soon.
(Side note: A word is cut off at the end of this video. It was an intentional, artistic choice. It definitely wasn’t a mistake.)
