First I've bought Beats Solo, which had a terrible quality of sound. Even my 50 euro Sony in ears had a much better high tones. The sound in beats was muddy. Then, after returning them to the store, I've picked Beats studio hoping for better, after reading some good reviews. Right out from the box, I could hear noice cancelation as an annoying sound in the headphones. Oh, well, at least it disappeared after turning on the music. Sound of Studios was clear, but... After first half an hour I've discovered an annoying noice in the right headphone which only got louder and louder and then ended up with a loud click, that made me take off the headphones right away. It felt like when you're sitting on an airplane and you have this weird feeling in the ears. It happened a lot after that on the random occasions. I did a little research on the net and discovered that I was not the only one with this issue (It's supposed to be pretty random with beats but is related with their terrible quality check and faulty parts). I've contacted Beats support which is supposed to be very good, but I've never received any email back from them. Additionally, Monster is supposed to be famous for their quality cables. Whenever I tried to call someone from my Iphone, or even if anyone was talking on the mobile nearby, I heard the beeping in my headphones just like in the car, when the mobile is switching between transmitting stations. I've fixed it myself by using normal cable instead of original thick monster one. Anyway, after a hopeless week I said to myself that it's my own fault for buying some product with Dr. Dre printed on it with huge letters. I have returned Beats Studio to the store, took back my money and decided to purchase headphones from the company that actually is famous for quality products, not for contracts with stars. It was a one good decision. For the price of Beats Studio + extra 20 euro I've bought Bose QC15. I have to say that I had none of the problems I had with beats; Sound quality is higher though the bass is not that pumped up as in Beats (but still you can feel it when it should be there). Sound is clear, balanced and makes you want to relisten to all your music library. It is exactly what I was looking for. Perfect headphones for my everyday usage. On minus I have to add that they don't work without the battery, but I still didn't had to swap it, even though I'm using them on a daily basis for the last week.

I tested both the Bose QC15s and Monster Beats Studio headphones in-store, and I preferred the QC15s. I wasn't impressed by the Beats. The noise-cancellation wasn't great, they weren't loud enough compared to the Shure EC4s in-earphones that I've been using for nearly 4 years (I had to boost my iPod's volume limiter to make the Beats loud enough to test), and I felt a headache developing after only a few minutes. I tested the QC15s at a special display that simulates background noise (although there was plenty of that in the store) and their noise-cancellation was MUCH BETTER. The prospect of a $350 sale drew a sales-vulture within a minute, and he was cool by letting me plug the QC15s into my iPod to test. They were much better than the Beats. Admittedly, the audio limiter was already jacked up so I didn't have the same low-volume issue as the Beats; but I tested them with the music volume at around 50% and they were comfortably loud. <br />The Monster Beats might look "cooler", but if you don't care about showing off (mostly to strangers), the Boss QC15s are the superior pair of noise-cancelling headphones for the same price.

over the past year i've probably purchased close to a dozen different makes and models of headphones and bar none not a one comes close to the fantastic noise cancellation abilities of the bose qc15's. yes they may be a bit on the high price end and they may not produce the best pure music reproduction but if your number one priority is noise cancellation, followed by sound quality and comfort you will not be disappointed. in grad school i had an instructor who gave us all some very good advice. basically said you only live once so don't penny pinch on a good bed or good cookware,...i would add a third item to that being don't settle for anything less than the bose for noise cancellation, life is short and in a crowded noise filled world every moment of peace is worth its weight in gold imho. there may well be better out there but i haven't stumbled across any yet and quite frankly with these i really don't feel the need to continue looking. be it for traveling, loud office environs, car pooling, crying baby's(love them dearly but...) or even if you work nights and need to sleep during the day, they are wonderful. forgot even the occasional rude jerk with the blaring stereo loud enough to be heard for blocks is drowned out, stress no more. in a hectic loud stress filled world these are truly a gift that you should give yourself and if you are rolling in the bucks give a pair to someone you care about.

Beats by Dre may provide a better listening experience for the first few weeks, but the durability of Monster's overpriced headset is no where near Bose...expect Dre's cables and plastic to break with the slightest overuse
