Pioneer Elite X-Z9 Review

Having this at my desk for some time now (I purchased as a closeout for $400), I’m very impressed with the build quality and size of the product.

My only complaints are:

- The small size of the display makes digging through large media libraries or finding an internet radio station cumbersome.

- When the internet radio connection fails during play, it does not try to reconnect but requires you to navigate back and find the station again.

- I haven’t found a way to connect to a Windows Media stream that requires a login (even a guest login) to play the stream.

The favorites capability (two types), USB, overall sound, SACD compatibility, and ability to play all types of network streams, from internet radio to streaming audio to XM/Sirius are all terrific.
