Google was remarkably silent about Android and Chrome at its annual I/O developer conference, but earlier today at a press conference, the company made up for its quiet by announcing a handful of new products.
For the most part it was just what we expected; Google announced the Android 4.3 update, and also pulled the curtain back on the second generation Nexus 7 tablet. But then they threw us a curveball.
Google also unveiled a completely new product at the event – a media streaming device called Chromecast. This nifty little stick plugs into the HDMI port on your TV and allows you to stream media to the bigscreen from your phone, tablet, or laptop. Looks like the days of huddling around tiny screens just to watch YouTube will soon be behind us.
And the best part? This badboy will only put you back $35 bucks, and if you buy one, Google will throw in three free months of Netflix just to sweeten the deal. Find out more or place an order here.
